Training Tracks for Every Role on Your Ops Team

Not everyone needs the same course. A junior admin preparing for their first on-call rotation has different gaps than a team lead mapping capacity for next fiscal year.

For Junior Admins

First year on the job? This track covers the diagnostic fundamentals — how to read logs, assess hardware health, respond to alerts, and not panic when a disk starts throwing errors at midnight.

6 modules · ~24 hours of lab time

For Senior Engineers

Capacity forecasting, storage tier design, advanced monitoring pipelines. The exercises here assume you already know your way around a server room. The final scenario is a simulated migration where half the documentation is wrong — because that's how it goes in real life.

For Team Leads & Managers

Less keyboard, more strategy. This track focuses on building training programs for your team, creating runbook standards, and justifying infrastructure spend to people who don't speak server.

  • • Budget justification frameworks
  • • Hiring & skill gap assessments

Security & Compliance Bootcamp

Two-week intensive. Covers patch management, access control auditing, log retention policies, and incident response planning. We don't cover cloud-native security — this is for on-prem and hybrid environments specifically. If your compliance team has been breathing down your neck, this is the one. Fair warning: the exam scenario is deliberately stressful.

Performance & Diagnostics

The deep-dive track. Storage benchmarking, thermal profiling, sensor data analysis, I/O troubleshooting. Where you learn to find the bottleneck everyone else missed.

The Difference

What Changes After NorthBridge

Before

  • Alerts fire and nobody knows what's actually wrong
  • Capacity decisions based on gut feeling
  • Runbooks that haven't been updated since 2019
  • On-call rotations where the junior admin calls the senior at home every time
  • Hardware failures discovered after the outage

After

  • Team triages alerts independently using real diagnostic steps
  • Capacity planning backed by benchmark data and trend analysis
  • Runbooks written by your own people, tested in lab scenarios
  • Junior admins handle most incidents solo within 3 months
  • Predictive maintenance catches drives and thermal issues early

Client Results

What Their Teams Reported Back

"Enrolled our whole ops team — four people — last October. By January the midnight escalations dropped by about 60%. The junior admin who used to call me for everything now handles disk failures on her own. That alone made it worth it."

Rajiv Mehta

VP of Infrastructure, Lakewood Manufacturing

"Honestly, the security bootcamp was harder than I expected. But two weeks later I found three service accounts with domain admin privileges that nobody knew about. So yeah. Money well spent."

Sarah Kwan

IT Manager, Westshore Credit Union

"We'd looked at other training options. Most were slide decks and quizzes. NorthBridge gave us actual lab environments to break things in. Scheduling was a bit tricky across time zones — we're in Halifax — but the content made up for it."

Marc Leblanc

Systems Architect, Atlantic Harbour Logistics

FAQ

Straight Answers

How does the demo work exactly?
You pick a time slot. One of our instructors joins a video call, shares their screen, and walks through a live lab exercise — usually the disk health diagnostic module. You can ask questions throughout. The whole thing takes about 30 minutes. That's it.
Is everything remote or do you do on-site training?
Primarily remote. Labs run in your browser. We do on-site intensives for groups of 8 or more, but that requires about 8 weeks of lead time and costs more. Most teams stick with remote — it's easier to fit around shift schedules.
What kind of lab environments do you use?
Browser-based access to real virtual machines. Not simulations — actual servers with operating systems, storage, networking. You break them, fix them, and move on. Lab images are refreshed quarterly so the scenarios don't go stale.
What's the pricing like?
Per seat, per track. Teams of 5 or more get volume pricing. We quote in CAD. Book the demo and we'll include a transparent pricing breakdown in the follow-up — no hidden fees, no upsells.
Do you only train on-prem sysadmins?
Our strength is on-prem and hybrid infrastructure. We cover physical servers, storage arrays, networking gear, and the virtual layers sitting on top. Pure cloud-native architecture isn't our focus — there are other training providers better suited for that. We're honest about our lane.
